The following is a summary of Division III news from the week of March 31-April 4.

  • Two coaches who rank among the most successful in their sports collected milestone victories. Johns Hopkins baseball coach Bob Babb collected his 800th win and Trinity (Texas) men’s and women’s tennis coach Butch Newman recorded his 300th match victory in men’s tennis.

  • The NCAA News featured a Campus Connection podcast interview with Mike Theulen, director of athletics at Western New England, who discussed recent athletics success at the school.

  • The News also presented an account of the New York University women’s golf team’s first-ever competition. “It was pure joy to know you were representing your university, and as pioneers for the program,” said NYU senior captain Gretchen Johnson.

  • Four Lycoming basketball players who listed Bill Clinton as their favorite president in the team media guide were surprised with copies of the guide autographed by the former chief executive during his recent visit to the school for a political rally.
