Grant application deadline nears
Applications for the NCAA Division III Ethnic Minority and Women's Internship Grant Program and the Division III Strategic Alliance Matching Grant are due February 15 and March 3, respectively.
The Division III Ethnic Minority and Women's Internship Grant Program helps prepare individuals for full-time employment in leadership roles in athletics administration. The two-year awards allow Division III institutional and conference recipients to fund 10-month full-time positions. Each $23,100 annual award covers the intern's salary and includes $3,000 for attending professional-development activities such as the NCAA Convention, Regional Rules Seminar, conference meetings or the NACWAA/HERS Institute for Administrative Advancement.
Division III institutions and conference offices also can enhance their gender and ethnic diversity through the Strategic Alliance Matching Grant. The three-year award funds full-time professional positions in athletics administration that include significant administrative responsibilities. The NCAA funds 75 percent of the position during the first year, 50 percent for the second year and 25 percent for the third.
