Methodist’s Special Olympics involvement noted
Special Olympics North Carolina has recognized Methodist for more than five years of involvement in Special Olympics -- not only as a venue for local competitions but because of volunteer participation by student-athletes, faculty and staff in those events.
The organization also honored DeeDee Jarman, associate director of athletics at the school, as volunteer of the year for her coordination of the school’s efforts.
The college provides facilities for local competitions at no charge, and campus representatives have forged relationships with the Special Olympics organization, such as Jarman’s role as a member of the Fayetteville-Cumberland County executive committee.
