CBS to Air NCAA Fall Seasonal Show on Christmas Day

INDIANAPOLIS---For the third consecutive year, all 88 NCAA championships will receive television exposure, including 12 Division II and Division III fall championships to be featured in a one-hour special on Christmas Day.

"CBS Sports Presents Championships of the NCAA” will air at 3:30 p.m. Eastern time/12:30 p.m. Pacific time Saturday, December 25, on CBS.  Highlights and stories from Division II and Division III cross country, field hockey, soccer and volleyball will be featured in the program.

Some of the student-athlete stories to be featured in the program include:

    * Erin Dodson, a volleyball player for Juniata College who is battling brain cancer;
    * Missy Buttry of WartburgCollege going for a record third straight women’s cross country individual title;
    * Salisbury University field hockey team with unique methods of motivation; and
    * Erin Hasemeier, a cross country runner at Central Missouri State University who recently donated a kidney to one of her sisters.

Through the NCAA-CBS 11-year bundled rights agreement, CBS Sports has aired six seasonal shows from the three NCAA sports seasons (fall, winter, spring) over the last two years.

Veteran CBS Sports commentator Bonnie Bernstein will host the fall seasonal show.  Bernstein has hosted the previous six seasonal shows.
