INDIANAPOLIS---The NCAA Division II Women's Rowing Committee has selected the teams that will compete in the 2004 NCAA Division II Women's Rowing Championships.

The championships will be held May 28-30 at CSUS Aquatic Center in Sacramento, California. California State University, Sacramento, will serve as host.

The teams selected were: Western Washington University - West region; Barry University- South region; Mercyhurst College - East region; and Humboldt State University - at-large team. The team championship is comprised of four teams, and each team is required to field one boat of eight rowers and one boat of four rowers.

In addition, two at-large Eights from institutions not represented in the team competition were selected. The two schools selected were: Florida Institute of Technology and Nova Southeastern University.

The selection of teams and individual boats were based on eligibility and availability of student-athletes; head-to-head competition; late-season performance; regional rankings; regional championship results; results against teams already selected; results against regionally ranked teams; and results against common opponents.

University of California, Davis successfully defended its title last year at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis. The Aggies dominated the water, winning both the I Eights and Fours. In the I Eights, UC Davis finished in 6:51.74, while Western Washington came in second with a 6:56.60.
