St. Louis --- What if college hoops had a hometown where college basketball fans and athletics reign supreme? NCAA Hoop City® Refreshed by Coca-Cola is just such a place - an entire city devoted to sports, fun, family and education - and it’s coming to St. Louis April 1 – 4 at the America’s Center as part of the NCAA Men’s Final Four®.
Hoop City will be open from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday; and from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Sunday and Monday. Tickets are $5.00 for ages 12 and up; $3.00 ages 3 - 11, college students and seniors (55 and over) with proper I.D.; and free for children 2 and under. Join the “Mayor of Hoop City” who will be on hand to preside over activities for fans of all ages. Meet NCAA coaches, learn about sportsmanship and college athletics, participate in basketball clinics, delight at the precision of the Final Four team cheerleaders and join NCAA mascot J.J. Jumper for a party at center court.
Citizens of Hoop City will have the chance to experience the excitement of NCAA basketball and other sports at entertainment areas including:
- The NCAA Hall of Champions – The best of college sports under one roof, showing how athletes and coaches excel at their respective sports using a variety of interactive displays, theater presentations and personal appearances.
- The NCAA Zone – Showcases a variety of NCAA sports and features a locker room filled with authentic college sports gear. Fans can participate in NCAA sport activities including baseball and softball speed pitches, soccer penalty kicks, putting at a 3-hole golf course and fencing.
- Coca-Cola Spirit of Champions – Visitors will experience the thrills and excitement of the NCAA at these interactive sport zones where they can take part in 3-point shoot out contests, individual and team competitions, free throw challenges and more. The Sports Van will also be on hand featuring its own emcee and NCAA video game competitions, and you can get your picture taken at the Coca-Cola Make It Real zone.
- Cingular's Retro Hall of Hoops - Fans will see and experience milestones in the history of college basketball and wireless communication since the inception of the Naismith Trophy, college basketball's most prestigious honor. Each interactive zone is a blast from the past and features the latest and greatest in wireless technology, games, prizes, and celebrity autograph sessions. Fans can have their pictures taken, charge their phones and download a free ring tone.
- Pontiac Showroom – The official performance machines of the NCAA will be on display with specialists available to answer all of your questions. Plus there’s a video gaming lounge where visitors can play the latest interactive games and win prizes.
- Kraft “food & family” Center – Attendees of all ages can experience the adventure of rock climbing when they scale the Balance® Bar Rock Wall with the help of instructors. There are also DiGiorno® basketball activities for the hoops fan, plenty of Balance® Bars and Planters® Nuts to keep up the energy and the chance to enter to win a college scholarship.
- Monster Clubhouse – Fans can live out their hoop dreams by re-enacting the most historic NCAA shots when they play Buzzer Beater Basketball on the Clubhouse court. Monster Squads will also be handing out Scan-to-Win passes that can be redeemed at the Clubhouse for prizes after scanning them at kiosks throughout Hoop City.
