INDIANAPOLIS---The NCAA Divisions I, II and III Men's Lacrosse Committees have selected Baltimore to serve as the host for the 2007 Divisions I, II and III Men's Lacrosse Championships, and Boston as the site for the 2008 championships. The Division I committee also announced the quarterfinal sites for the 2006 and 2007 championships.

“With the explosive growth of men’s lacrosse, the city of Boston is perfect for showcasing the NCAA men’s lacrosse championships in New England. The selected venues are state-of-the-art facilities that offer exceptional amenities that serve to enhance the quality and excitement of the championship weekend experience for our student athletes, fans, and all those associated with the sport of lacrosse. A traditional hot-bed for men’s lacrosse and an outstanding host in 2003 and 2004, the city of Baltimore was a natural choice for the return of the championships. Each year more and more institutions located in various cities show an interest in hosting the lacrosse championships. It is critical to the continued growth of the lacrosse championships that we select quality venues and provide an atmosphere that embraces the excitement of the sport.” said Jon Hind, chair of the Division I Men's Lacrosse Committee.

The 2007 championships, which consist of the Division I semifinals and final, the Division II final and the Division III final, will be hosted May 26-28, by Johns Hopkins University, Loyola College (Maryland), Towson University and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County at M & T Bank Stadium, home of the National Football League's (NFL) Baltimore Ravens. The four institutions hosted the championships in 2003 and 2004, and still hold the attendance mark for the Division I semifinals of 46,923. Baltimore also hosted the Division I championships in 1975 at Johns Hopkins.

On May 24-26 2008, the Eastern College Athletic Conference and Harvard University will co-host the event at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts. Gillette Stadium is home to the NFL's New England Patriots. It will mark the furthest north the championships have been held since 1991 when Syracuse University hosted the event.

The quarterfinal sites in 2006 will have the North region being hosted May 20, by Stony Brook University at Kenneth P. Lavalle Stadium in Stony Brook, New York, and the South region being hosted May 21, by Towson University at Unitas Stadium in Baltimore. In 2007, Princeton University will host the North region quarterfinals at Princeton Stadium in Princeton, New Jersey, while the U. S. Naval Academy will host the South region quarterfinals at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland. The 2007 dates are to be determined.

Previously announced, the 2006 championships will be held at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, May 27-29. Tickets are available by calling 215/336-2000 or by clicking in the helpful links box above.
