INDIANAPOLIS --- Lauryn McCalley, the 2005 NCAA Woman of the Year recipient, is scheduled to appear on the ESPN2 show “Cold Pizza” Friday, January 27 in New York. The broadcast is 10 a.m. to noon EST, with McCalley scheduled to appear at about 11:20 a.m.
McCalley will talk about her experiences of being a student-athlete, which includes being named an all-American five times during her competition as a diver at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
She graduated from Tennessee in 2005 with a degree in microbiology. Currently, she is enrolled as a graduate student at the University of Georgia and studying to become a compound pharmacist.
The Woman of the Year award recognizes senior student-athletes in intercollegiate athletics for their outstanding achievements in athletics, academics and community service.
The 10 finalists for the 2005 award had an average grade-point average of 3.82 on a 4.0 scale and graduated or will graduate with degrees in accounting, American history, communications, French, international studies, kinesiology, microbiology, physical education and social work.
