INDIANAPOLIS
--- The NCAA announced Thursday that portions of the third day of
competition of the Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field
Championships will be broadcast live on College Sports Television
(CSTV). The show will air Friday, June 9 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern
time.
The Championships will be held June 7-10 at the A.G. Spanos Sports
Complex on the campus of Sacramento State. Earlier this spring it was
announced that the final day of competition, Saturday, June 10, will be
broadcast live on CBS from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern time.
"We are very pleased about the additional live coverage, as it provides
additional exposure for track and field and our student-athletes,” said
DeTrease Harrison, chair of the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track
and Field committee and assistant athletics director for business at
Virginia Commonwealth University. “CBS has been a long-time partner of
the NCAA Track and Field Championships and the live coverage is just
another example of its commitment. The addition of the CSTV coverage is
just a continuation of that commitment.”
This will mark the first year of any live coverage of the championships
since 1982. With the four and a half hours of live coverage, it will
mark the most live coverage in the 86 years of the event and the most
live coverage of any track and field event this year
