INDIANAPOLIS---The NCAA Division I Track and Field Committee has selected future hosts for the 2008-10 NCAA Men's and Women's Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Championships as well as the 2007 NCAA Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships.

The indoor championships will be held at the Randal Tyson Indoor Track Center on the campus of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, in 2008 and 2010, while the 2009 championships will be held at the indoor track facility on the campus of Texas A&M University, College Station.

The outdoor championships will be held at Drake Stadium featuring the Jim Duncan Track on the campus of Drake University in 2008, the John McDonnell Outdoor Track on the campus of Arkansas in 2009, and Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon in 2010.

"The committee was very pleased with not only the number of the bids, but especially in the quality of the bids we received,” said DeTrease Harrison, assistant athletics director for business, Virginia Commonwealth University and chair of the NCAA Division I Track and Field Committee. “The quality of the experience for our student-athletes is of utmost important to the committee, and we feel these cities and universities will offer unforgettable experiences.”

Arkansas has hosted the indoor championships since 2000 and was previously announced as the 2007 host as well. While still being built, Texas A&M's facility is slated to be open for competition in time for the 2007 indoor track and field season.

"Arkansas has a proven record of being an outstanding host for the indoor championships and they have a world-class facility," Harrison said. "The facility at Texas A&M will be state-of-the-art. We know these are and will be wonderful facilities to showcase our event."

Drake hosted the NCAA Track and Field Championships in 1970, while Arkansas has never hosted the outdoor event. Oregon has hosted the outdoor championships nine times previously (1962, 1964, 1972, 1978, 1984, 1988, 1991, 1996, 2001).

"The Drake Relays is one of track and field's premier events, so we are confident in the structure Drake already has in place along with the community support to make sure our student-athletes have an outstanding experience," Harrison said. "Arkansas recently finished some extensive renovations at their stadium, which make it one of the top track and field facilities in the nation. The University of Oregon has such a long and storied tradition in track and field, and the city of Eugene has supported the NCAA Championships very well."

Previously announced, the 2007 outdoor championships will be held at Hornet Stadium on the campus of Sacramento State. Sacramento State and the Sacramento Sports Commission have also hosted in 2003, 2005 and 2006.

The 2007 NCAA Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships will be held at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center and hosted by Indiana State University. It will be the fourth straight time and fifth overall that the event will be in Terre Haute, Indiana.
