DENVER, CO., January 23, 2005 – Thought Equity, a world wide leader in footage licensing and management, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA®), today announced the online availability of the NCAA® Sports Collection.  The NCAA Sports Collection consists of the entire archived library of NCAA championships coverage, beginning with footage captured as early as 1906 and is available for licensing exclusively at www.thoughtequity.com/NCAA/.

The availability of the NCAA Sports Collection means entertainment, creative and corporate production companies now have real-time access to 100 years of NCAA sports footage and events for their productions.  The collection represents tens of thousands of hours of the most intense and memorable moments in NCAA championships history, including footage of many former NCAA student-athletes who later became sports legends.  The collection includes history’s greatest collegiate student-athletes and plays from 88 NCAA championships in 23 men’s and women’s intercollegiate sports from Divisions I, II and III, including basketball, football, baseball, ice hockey, soccer, softball, volleyball and more.  In addition to a century of original NCAA championship game footage, Thought Equity will produce and make available for licensing agency quality clips from current events both in Film and HD formats.

“One of the primary reasons that the NCAA has joined with Thought Equity is for the preservation of our extensive video archive collection.  Thought Equity is in the process of ingesting the entire NCAA footage archive which will digitally preserve this classic footage and make the entire NCAA footage archive available to producers for online preview, purchase and download only at www.thoughtequity.com/ncaa/”, stated Greg Weitekamp, Director of Broadcasting for the NCAA.

“Since its inception, collegiate sports have been a cornerstone in American entertainment,” added Weitekamp.  “Our video library is one of the most sought-after collections for two reasons.  One, it represents the broadest range of men and women’s collegiate sporting events available in any single library. And two, NCAA sports are a compelling and effective way to illustrate key concepts such as teamwork, spirit, success and excellence. The demand for deeper and more immediate access to our archive of sports footage required us to find a partner who could digitize and preserve our historical library and make it instantly available to our partners and production professionals.  Thought Equity understands how to both preserve and manage large archives as well as package them for licensing,” said Weitekamp.

“The NCAA Sports Collection is one of the most unique collections in the world,” said Kevin Schaff, founder and CEO of Thought Equity.  “Our commitment has always been to create an online destination that provides our customers with advanced search tools and unique high quality footage that allow them to make the most of their time and production budget.  This newest collection allows our customers to differentiate their products by including exclusive shots that can not be recreated or found anywhere else.”

Production professionals can now draw on a century of historic sports moments to help entertain, inform and educate.  The NCAA Sports Collection is so comprehensive in its coverage of events that producers can create entire programs, documentaries, and commercials from this inventory.
