INDIANAPOLIS---The NCAA Hall of Champions will celebrate its student-athletes and 100 year history, while educating the public on NCAA topics that have surfaced over the years with a year- long Centennial exhibit called "A Century of Champions." The exhibit opens Friday, January 6, at the Hall of Champions, located in White River State Park in downtown Indianapolis.

The NCAA is celebrating its 100-year anniversary throughout 2006 with special events, recognitions and the Century of Champions exhibit. A Century of Champions features historical memorabilia, pivotal displays and interesting factoids that reflect NCAA achievements and topics. Displays include information on NCAA championships, collegiate coaches, former student-athletes and issues such as student-athlete well-being and amateurism.

"A Century of Champions is one of several special events and tributes the NCAA Hall of Champions will host this Centennial year," said Kelly Dodds, Assistant Director of Special Projects.

"We want to show the public how the NCAA has evolved and create discussion surrounding NCAA topics and activities we see occurring today and those that occurred in the past. A Century of Champions will help individuals understand student-athlete triumphs and NCAA ideals, as it will be a composite display of 100 years of history," said Dodds.

The Hall of Champions will interchange information in the factoids and displays throughout the year. The exhibit concludes on January 7, 2007.
