INDIANAPOLIS---The site selection process for the 2012 through 2016 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Final Fours began this week with notification to the Division I membership and potential host cities that their declaration of intent to bid must be received by the Division I Men’s and Women’s Basketball Committees by November 21.

Division I member institutions and conferences were advised of the minimum seating capacities of 18,000 for the Women’s Final Four and 40,000 for the Men’s Final Four. Prospective hosts that submit a declaration form will be sent an invitation to take part in a bid introduction seminar that will be held in Indianapolis in late January, 2008.

Completed bid proposals will be due in June, 2008. The men’s and women’s committees will submit recommended Final Four sites to the Championships/Competition Cabinet for approval in November, 2008.
