INDIANAPOLIS---The NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Committee announced dates and times for the start of ticket sales for the 2008 regionals. All regional tickets are being sold as a three-game package from the first sale date at each site through March 23. It is anticipated that the regional sites will be sold out, but if any of the four sites are not sold out by March 23, tickets will be available for individual sessions at an increased ticket price.
As a bonus, any person buying tickets on the first day regional tickets go on sale will have the opportunity to win two tickets to the 2008 Men’s Frozen Four in Denver. Each region will award a pair of tickets to a person who is randomly selected from people who purchased tickets through the Internet, in-person or by phone.
Tickets for the Northeast regional at the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts (hosted by the College of the Holy Cross) will go on sale at noon Eastern time, October 6. Fans can purchase tickets by visiting the DCU Center box office, by calling 617/931-2000 or by logging onto the Internet at www.ticketmaster.com. Start times for the first-round games are 4 and 7:30 p.m. Eastern time, March 29, while the regional final is 4:30 p.m. Eastern time, March 30. Tickets for the three-game package are $80.
East regional tickets for the Times Union Center in Albany, New York (hosted by the ECAC Hockey League and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) will go on sale October 6 at 10 a.m. Eastern time. Tickets can be purchased by calling 800/303-8368, online at www.timesunion.com or by stopping by the Times Union Center box office. Start times for the first-round games are 4 and 7:30 p.m. Eastern time, March 28, while the regional final is 7 p.m. Eastern time, March 29, Tickets for the three-game package are $82.
The Midwest regional at the Kohl Center in Madison, Wisconsin (hosted by the University of Wisconsin, Madison) will have tickets on sale starting at 8:30 a.m. Central time, September 24. First-round games are 2 and 5:30 p.m. Central time, March 29, while the regional final is 6 p.m. Central time, March 30. Tickets for the three-game package are $65, and can be obtained by calling 1-800/GO-BADGERS, 608/262-1440, online at www.uwbadgers.com or in-person at the Athletic Ticket Office located at Camp Randall Stadium.
Tickets for the West regional at World Arena in Colorado Springs, Colorado (hosted by Colorado College) will go on sale October 1 at 10 a.m. Mountain time. The first-round contests are 4:30 and 8 p.m. Mountain time, March 28, while the regional final is 8 p.m. Mountain time, March 29. Three-game ticket packages are available for $89 for the lower bowl and $74 for the upper bowl and can be purchased at the World Arena box office, online at www.cctigers.com or by calling 719/576-2626.
If any of the host institutions are selected to participate in the 2008 NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Championship, they will be assigned to their host site. The 2008 NCAA Men’s Frozen Four, April 10 and 12, at the Pepsi Center in Denver is sold out. This marks the 11th time in the last 12 years that the Men’s Frozen Four has been sold out.
