Jeff Arnold, in the January 23 issue of the Ann Arbor News, also got it wrong in his story “Unfair for Women? NCAA Committee Wants to Ban Male Practice Players.” Arnold wrote, “Currently, Division III is the only level to limit the use of male practice players. A full ban will be discussed at the Division III management council's April meeting.”

In fact, Division III does not limit the use of male practice players. Legislation proposed at the 2007 Convention would have limited their use, but that legislation was referred back to the Management Council by the membership. The Management Council will further study the issue, but there are no plans to consider a full ban at the April meeting.
