Tickets for Division I Men's Ice Hockey Regionals to Go on Sale

            INDIANAPOLIS---The NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Committee announced dates and times for the start of ticket sales for the 2009 regionals.  All regional tickets are being sold as a three-game package from the first sale date at each site through March 22.  It is anticipated that the regional sites will be sold out, but if any of the four sites are not sold out by March 22, tickets will be available for individual sessions at an increased ticket price.

As a bonus, any person buying tickets on the first day regional tickets go on sale will have the opportunity to win two tickets to the 2009 Men’s Frozen Four in Washington, D.C.  Each region will award a pair of tickets to a person who is randomly selected from people who purchased tickets through the Internet, in-person or by phone.  For the Grand Rapids Regional, the winner from the Midwest Region will receive those tickets to the 2010 Men’s Frozen Four in Detroit and be selected from anyone who has purchased tickets through December 31.

            Tickets for the Northeast regional at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire (hosted by the University of New Hampshire) will go on sale at 10 a.m. Eastern time, October 15.  Fans can purchase tickets by visiting the Verizon Wireless Arena box office, by calling 603/868-7300 or by logging onto the internet at http://www.unhwildcats.com/ or www.ticketmaster.com.  Start times for the first-round games are 1:30 and 5 p.m. Eastern time, March 28, while the regional final is 5:30 p.m. Eastern time, March 29.  Tickets for the three-game package are $82.

            East regional tickets for the Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, Connecticut (hosted by Yale University and Fairfield University) will go on sale November 3 at 10 a.m. Eastern time.  Tickets can be purchased by calling 203/368-1000, logging onto http://www.ticketmaster.com/ or by stopping by the Arena at Harbor Yard ticket office. Start times for the first-round games are 3 and 6:30 p.m. Eastern time, March 27, while the regional final is 6:30 p.m. Eastern time, March 28.  Tickets for the three-game package are $75 for adults and $50 for youth under the age of 18.

            The Midwest regional at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan (hosted by the Central Collegiate Hockey Association) will have tickets on sale starting at 10 a.m. Eastern time, October 6.  First-round games are 4 and 7:30 p.m. Eastern time, March 28, while the regional final is 8 p.m. Eastern time, March 29.  Tickets for the three-game package are $60 until December 31 when they will go up to $65, and can be obtained by calling 616/456-3333, online at www.ticketmaster.com or in-person at the Van Andel Arena or DeVos Place box office.             Tickets for the West regional at Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis (hosted by the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities) will go on sale October 8 at 8 a.m. Central time.  The first-round contests are 4:30 and 8 p.m. Central time, March 27, while the regional final is 8 p.m. Central time, March 28.  Three-game ticket packages are available for $80 and can be purchased at the Mariucci Arena box office, logging onto www.gophersports.com or by calling 612/624-8080 or 800/846-7437.

If any of the host institutions are selected to participate in the 2009 NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Championship, they will be assigned to their host site.  Links for ordering tickets online for all regionals are available through http://www.ncaa.com/.  Times for all regional contests are subject to change.

The 2009 NCAA Men’s Frozen Four, April 9 and 11, at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. is sold out.  This marks the 12th time in the last 13 years that the Men’s Frozen Four has been sold out.
