Regional Sites Selected for 2010 National Collegiate Women's Gymnastics

INDIANAPOLIS---The  NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Committee announced  the selection of the women’s gymnastics regional sites for 2010.

            2010 regional competition will be held on Saturday, April 10, at the following sites:

Northeast         Pennsylvania State University              University Park, Pennsylvania (Rec Hall)

North Central   University of Utah                               Salt Lake City, Utah (Jon M. Huntsman Center)

South Central   University of Missouri, Columbia        Columbia, Missouri (Hearnes Center)

Southeast         West Virginia University                      Morgantown, West Virginia (WVU Coliseum)

West                University of California, Los Angeles Los Angeles, California (Pauley Pavilion)

 

            “Six outstanding sites have been selected to host the 2010 women’s gymnastics regional competition,” said Paul Plinske, chair of the Women’s Gymnastics Committee and athletics director at the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater. “We are excited to bring NCAA women’s gymnastics to these cities and look forward to an outstanding experience for all involved.”

      The top two teams, as well as the top two all-around competitors not on an advancing team, from each regional will receive an automatic berth to the 2010 National Collegiate Women’s Gymnastics Championships, being held April 22-24, at the University of Florida in Gainesville.

        In addition, the event winners at the regional championships will advance to the national championships in that event only, if they are not part of a qualifying team or the all-around competition.
