Recent media reports quote Rep. Neil Abercrombie (D-Hawaii) linking the BCS within the NCAA structure.  To be more precise, the NCAA has no role within the BCS structure and does not determine in any way which schools appear in the BCS contests.  The BCS is an independent entity.
