INDIANAPOLIS---The NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Committee has reprimanded University of California, Santa Barbara, head coach Tim Vom Steeg for inappropriate behavior after a third-round game of the 2007 NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Championship.

Specifically, Mr. Vom Steeg made inappropriate comments to the media that were critical of the officiating during UC Santa Barbara’s third-round loss to Ohio State University. Because of these actions, the committee decided to issue a public reprimand to Mr. Vom Steeg, as well as a $300 financial penalty.

The men’s soccer committee was disappointed by these comments and strongly believes the championship should not be tarnished by such acts.
