INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA Division I Tennis Committee has selected championship sites for 2010, 2011 and 2012. Athens, Ga., will host the 2010 and 2012 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships, while Stanford, Calif. will serve as the championship host in 2011.
“The committee was delighted to see the number of quality bids from institutions that have a commitment to growing collegiate tennis and a desire to provide student-athletes with a truly memorable experience,” said Sybil Blalock, chair of the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Tennis Committee and senior associate athletic director at Mercer University. “While the decisions were difficult ones, the institutions that will be hosting have a well-known tradition in collegiate tennis along with having previous experience hosting the combined championships format. The committee looks forward to working with both institutions over the next three years and are confident that players and fans alike will leave these sites having had great championship experiences.”
The University of Georgia will host the 2010 and 2012 championships at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex. Stanford University will host the 2011 championships at the Taube Family Tennis Center.
