INDIANAPOLIS---The NCAA National Collegiate Women’s Ice Hockey Committee has selected championship sites for 2010 and 2011.  Minneapolis, Minn., will host the 2010 National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Championship, while Erie, Pennsylvania, will serve as the championship host in 2011.

“The NCAA Women’s Ice Hockey Committee is pleased to announce our decision to award the NCAA Women’s Frozen Four to Minnesota in 2010 and Mercyhurst in 2011,” said Jeff Schulman, chair of the National Collegiate Women’s Ice Hockey committee and senior associate athletic director at the University of Vermont. “We received several attractive bids, each presenting exciting opportunities in future years for showcasing the NCAA Women’s Frozen Four. We are certain both schools and their respective communities will provide an outstanding experience for both the student-athletes and fans.”

The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, will host the 2010 championship, marking the third time Minneapolis will host this event (2001 and 2006).  Mercyhurst College will host the 2011 championship, which will be the first time the NCAA Women’s Frozen Four takes place in the state of Pennsylvania.
