INDIANAPOLIS---The NCAA is teaming up with some of its corporate partners to reward loyal and knowledgeable NCAA basketball fans through a new promotion called the Winning Combination Sweepstakes.
Already up and running, The Winning Combination Sweepstakes gives fans a chance to participate in an online trivia promotion, with prizes awarded each week through July 2, 2009. The NCAA Corporate Champions and Corporate Partners and numerous other NCAA equipment and media related companies will award more than 100 prizes to fans that answer the trivia questions correctly and win the weekly drawing.
Among the program’s rewards are three grand-prize items:
- NCAA 2010 Final Four Trip for two. The winner has a choice of attending the 2010 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship in Indianapolis, IN or the 2010 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship in San Antonio, TX.
- NCAA 2009–10 Championship for two. The winner receives a trip for two to an NCAA Championship of his or her choice during the 2009-2010 championship calendar. The NCAA has 88 championships in 23 sports.
- Bondurant Driving Experience for two. The winner receives a trip for two to drive Pontiacs at the Bondurant School of High Performance Driving in Phoenix, AZ.
Other prizes include Lowe’s gift cards, AT&T mobile phone service, NCAA official championship balls, and more.
The contest Web site
The program’s Web site, www.ncaawinningcombination.com, was designed and developed by Creative Street Media Group.
The Web site features a locker room theme where each fan plays for a chance to win by answering three multiple-choice questions about either NCAA sports, NCAA colleges and universities, or participating NCAA Champions and Partners. When participants get three correct answers (even if they utilize the provided “Research” hotlink to an appropriate website), they have “the winning combination.” The site then prompts the participant to register to win prizes.
Each person can register once per day to become one of the sweepstakes’ 123 winners.
“The NCAA recognizes the incredible value that our Corporate Champions, Corporate Partners and other NCAA relationships bring to our brand and events,” said Peter Davis, the director of corporate alliances at the NCAA, “we want to be sure that our fans understand those benefits as well. This promotion provides us an opportunity to show fans how important the tie between the NCAA and our partners is throughout the year whether we’re talking about academics or athletics.”
The NCAA Official Corporate Champions are AT&T, Coca-Cola and Pontiac. The NCAA Official Corporate Partners are Enterprise Rent-A-Car, The Hartford, Hershey’s, Lowe’s Companies, Inc, Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, and State Farm. CBS Interactive powers the NCAA's March Madness on Demand, as well as the NCAA's official fan site, NCAA.com.
