INDIANAPOLIS---The NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Committee has selected Greensboro, N.C., and Austin, Texas to serve as the hosts for the 2010 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Track and Field preliminary round sites.
North Carolina A&T State University will serve as the host for the East preliminary round and competition will be conducted at the Irwin Belk Track. The University of Texas at Austin will serve as the host for the West preliminary round and competition will be held at Mike A. Myers Stadium. Both will be three-day meets on May 27-29, 2010.
“We are happy to move forward with North Carolina A&T and Texas serving as our hosts for the preliminary rounds,” said Holly Sheilley, chair of the Division I Men’s and Women’s Track and Field committee and assistant athletic director at the University of Louisville. “Both institutions have demonstrated their overwhelming commitment and enthusiasm for track and field and we look forward to working together in hosting a first-class event for the student-athletes, fans and all those associated with the sport.”
The 2010 NCAA Track and Field outdoor championships will be held in Eugene, Ore., on the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field on June 9-12, 2010.
