INDIANAPOLIS---The NCAA Men’s Volleyball Committee has reprimanded University of California, Irvine, student-athlete Ryan Ammerman for inappropriate comments after the championship match of the 2009 NCAA Men’s Volleyball Championship.

Specifically, Mr. Ammerman made offensive comments during a live nationally broadcast television interview. Because of these actions, the committee decided to issue a public reprimand to Mr. Ammerman, as well as a $240 financial penalty to his institution.

The men’s volleyball committee was disappointed by Mr. Ammerman’s comments and strongly believes the championship should not be tarnished by such acts.
