INDIANAPOLIS---The NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Committee has reprimanded Lynn University head men’s soccer coach John Rootes for violating the NCAA Division II Code of Conduct during a first-round contest of the 2009 NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Championship.
Specifically, Mr. Rootes displayed unsportsmanlike behavior by directing offensive language toward a game official during the contest. Because of these actions, the committee decided to issue a public reprimand to Mr. Rootes.
The men’s soccer committee was disappointed in Mr. Rootes’ actions and strongly believes the championships should not be tarnished by such acts.
