INDIANAPOLIS --- The NCAA Hall of Champions will be open on Monday, July 4 in observance of the Fourth of July holiday.  Military servicemen and servicewomen will also get free admission to the Hall of Champions in celebration of the holiday.

“This is a great way to honor our servicemen and servicewomen and allow visitors to enjoy the Hall of Champions and other attractions in White River State Park over the holiday,” said Michael King, NCAA director of operations/Hall of Champions.  “Though we’re typically closed on Mondays, we thought it would be a nice holiday tribute to open our doors to visitors looking for something fun to do.”

One of the new attractions visitors will see in the Hall of Champions is the Patriot League showcase.   The Patriot League is an athletic conference in the NCAA membership that includes American University, the U.S. Military Academy (Army), Bucknell University, Colgate University, College of the Holy Cross, Lafayette College, Lehigh University and the U.S. Naval Academy (Navy).   Associate members include Fordham University, Georgetown University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The Patriot League’s member institutions are among the oldest and most prestigious in the nation. Alumni from Patriot League colleges and universities have played a leadership role in the shaping of our country, and many of the student-athletes at Patriot League schools have also earned numerous academic and athletic honors.  Visit www.patriotleague.org for more information on the athletic conference, its schools and its student-athletes.

The Patriot League exhibit will be displayed in the membership showcase on the Hall of Champion’s second floor.  The membership showcase is interchangeable and highlights accomplishments and achievements in the NCAA membership, which includes current and former student-athletes, colleges and universities, athletic conferences and various academic and athletic highlights reflective of intercollegiate athletics.
